BNGU: Mixing Languages

9 Nov , 2016   Matt   Video

Last week, we touched on the words “I love you”, and their significantly different impacts on our formative years. This week, we look at language in general, and the ups and downs of becoming a bilingual couple.

Pauline’s family hails from Taiwan, so she spent her first year of life surrounded by Mandarin Chinese. By the time she was old enough to speak, though, her parents had already moved to the states, and she was raised as a primarily English speaking child. Matt, on the other hand, was raised speaking English and only barely passed every foreign language class he ever took.
